Dan's Bio

Dan Young grew up in Washington MO. He always enjoyed the outdoors and radio

He has been working in radio since 1997, where he started at KLPW in Washington MO. Dan moved up to Iowa from St. Louis in 2002.

Dan can be heard on 1460 KXNO AM every Saturday Morning in morning drive from 7:00 to 9:00am. 

Dan is the host of " The Outdoors Dan Show" Sunday nights 7:00 to 8:00pm. On KTRS - 550 AM "The sports Voice of St. Louis", that hits all over the Midwest, and is the voice of the St Louis Cardinals Baseball team! !


Dan's TV show "Outdoors Traditions TV" seen weekly on FOX-17 in Des Moines Iowa , and on Fox Sports Network across the country runs July through December!

Dan's main mission is to reach out to kids and get them involved in the outdoors as much as possible.. He knows that the kids are the key to keep the outdoors growing!

He is on several national pro - staffs including Mathews Archery, Hunter Specialties Field Staff, Muzzy Broad heads, Nikon Sport Optics, Rivers Edge Tree Stands, Hunter Safety Systems, Easy-Crest Arrow Wraps. Field Logic - Makers of the Block Fusion Target, Gold Tip Arrows, The String Splitter Peep Sight.



Outdoors with Outdoors Dan is an Award winning radio show!

In 2004 Outdoors Dan was  honered to be named the  "2004 Tall Man Award Winner "  by Muzzy Broad heads! Dan received this award at the 2004 Archery Trade Association in Indianapolis Indiana. Other winners for this award, are Matt McPherson of Mathews Archery, and Native American Writer Judy Kovar.

Outdoors Dan was named the 2003 Outdoor Communicater of the year by General Sports Shows and the Des Moines Izaac Walton League!

Dan received the Riess Tuttle Award for Conservation Communications from the State Izzac Walton League June 2004. This is the 2nd year in a row, he won Broadcaster of the year for his show!
